We are a construction duo (who also happens to be married) working and living in Portland, Oregon. We bring detailed craftsmanship and experience to large and small projects. From a full-scale design & build kitchen remodel to a simple flooring job, our clients know that their house is safe in our hands.
From the beginning of the project to the end, you will be dealing with us (Shawn & Zina Hollman (see ABOUT US)). We are the office people, the design team, and the contractor (see OUR SERVICES). We also have an awesome team of sub-contractors in our back pocket.
About Us
SHAWN: I have been in construction since birth. Really. My dad started building houses with his brothers in the early 70's all over the Portland Metro area. I have pictures of me and my brother with a hammer as early as 5 years old. I am not endorsing 5 year olds with hammers, but nonetheless, it's where my story begins. I learned the importance of hard work and building relationships from my dad. But construction skills only get you so far. My mom, CEO of the family business, taught me valuable lessons in managing money and keeping the books. She loves numbers and office supplies, as do I.
ZINA: Making sure spaces are comfortable and beautiful, demands attention to the smallest details. Over the years, hands on experience with Shawn has given me a truly valuable education as a designer. I've learned that finishes that are beautiful, aren't always easy to clean, and if you have toddlers...that's not the way to go! Choosing materials that fit your daily life and are long-lasting, are just as important as style and beauty. Living in a space is different than looking at a space. We want to make sure you love both!
GREEN CITY: So, for us this has always been, and will always be a family business. We have now remodeled three of our own homes. And we're still married! We know what it means for people to have a house that feels like home. Green City Renovations understands the importance of keeping the remodeling process straight-forward and delivering quality work we can stand behind.
